  • Asti - a city full of culture: The city is famous not only for its sparkling wine of the same name but also for the "Palio" contest. A horse race where competition for supremacy is held for a year.

  • The eighth wine in Barbaresco: You cycle through Italy's most famous wine city. The house of the Barolo. Treat yourself to a glass of wine and watch the hustle and bustle of the Italians from a chair.

  • Turin: One of the most beautiful cities in Italy. Authentic, fascinating, not too busy and a real destination for gourmands. Thanks to the beautiful baroque buildings, the kilometres of covered shopping arcades, beautiful squares and modern art, the city has an impressive appearance.

Magnificent views over the famous vineyards characterize today's cycling route. In Neive you walk through one of the most beautiful old towns in Italy and in Barbaresco you are in the (next to Barolo) probably the most famous wine town of Piedmont. However, your destination is the medieval town of Alba, where the best quality white truffle, so beloved by gourmets from all over the world, grows.

In the beginning, you will cycle in the Roero region, known for its strong red wines. You can also taste these, for example, in the “Enoteca del Roero” in Canale. Then on over small streams and through deep green forests to Montafia. Matching the rural environment, you will again spend the night in a beautiful agriturismo including a typical local dinner.

ca. 45 km

Along the way, you will pass small, sleepy villages and the many vines will make you hungry again for a small glass. In Chieri, with its beautiful squares and cosy alleys, you should take a break before cycling the last kilometres along the river Po. Far too soon the starting point of the journey, beautiful Turin, is reached again.

ca. 50 km
